Information:
In my opinion, asides from the PC ports, the Saturn versions of Biohazard are quite possibly one of the best classic console versions of this iconic title. In addition to being rendered totally different, the models have much more to them, you can make out better facial details, and the system boasts a higher colour palette - ensuring any return to the PSX titles makes you think your game looks dull in comparison. The engine as a whole runs faster, and the controls were neatened and tightened for this version to cater for the fact the Saturn's D-Pad was much more fluid in movement than the PSX's at the time. One of the major failings that this version has is transparency was a lot more difficult to code on the Saturn, and it's very obvious looking at the water in the Vacant Lot basement along with the slowdown it hits wading into it.

As an extra bonus, there are a few features unique to the Saturn which have remained 100% unique to this port. For a start: Battle Mode. Essentially a beta build of Extreme Battle/The Mercenaries from later games, but a heap of fun. There is even a Wesker zombie! There's a whole 2nd Tyrant to contend with, and you also have to handle Ticks instead of Hunters which have more than just a reskin to them—as a BOW they have their own lore on their creation in extended media, and have unique sound effects. All in all, a very tidy, very nice port, and I think people should stop sleeping on it; the technical skill to bring it onto a console so notoriously hard to code for was no easy feat.
