Information:
CODE:Veronica was a landmark for the series, with Okamoto calling it the 'true sequel to Biohazard 2' for its continuation of Claire's story path. The game changed up the survival horror pre-set that the series had become known for at that point, removing fixed camera angles in a lot of areas for a panning camera system, fully in-engine rendered backgrounds and environments, and extremely detailed character and enemy models. The game would go on to be one of the Dreamcast's only titles to topple the 1 million sales mark.
The original game came in two releases—a limited edition version which was given a unique slipcase and if pre-ordered came with a metal plaque featuring Claire's prison ID for Rockfort that featured a unique issue number, and a standard retail release with no added bonuses. The limited edition slipcase release was also the only version of the game issued in the special release Dreamcast models that were brought out for the anniversary of the series.
My copy is a bit beaten up, the previous owner didn't retain the obi and the slipcase has suffered UV damage making it crack apart at the seams, but I do thankfully have a fully sealed copy with my Claire version Dreamcast to forever cherish.
