On an express train, Rebecca and Billy are attacked by passengers who have been turned into Zombies. In a mansion, Chris and Jill desperately fight for their lives. Moreover, the destruction of Raccoon City continues. This is all related to the corporate giant known as the Umbrella Corporation, and the dark secret dealings of Albert Wesker; the virus that changes living things into zombies, and the people who fight for the virus's destruction without any knowledge. The enigma will now be revealed.

Umbrella Chronicles SIDE A and SIDE B are, essentially, novelisations of the game. The books gloss lightly over the re-capped scenarios, but expand further in text the special canonical side plots and the final mission of the game which saw the end of Umbrella. It's one of those books that really should be translated into English for the extreme amount of extra canon exposition it adds from Albert Wesker's point of view up to the Russia 2003 incident, but likely won't be. Which is a shame. Regardless, it's a nice collection addition.
